Deputy of Port and Economic Affairs of the Ports and Maritime Organization: supplying port equipment in Chabahar ensures the provision of better services at the port

PMO News Portal -  Regarding the latest status of the contract concluded with the Indian side in Shahid Beheshti port of Chabahar, Farhad Montaser Kouhsari stated that the main contract has not been implemented yet. the Indian side had pledged to invest $ 85 million in the supply of equipment which is in line with the main contract.

Kouhsari said: Two ship to shore cranes are among the most modern port equipment supplied at Chabahar port, which will increase the annual loading and unloading rate to 20 million tons.

According to the Deputy Minister of Ports and Economic Affairs of the Ports and Maritime Organization, concerning the type of goods, these cranes have no restrictions on unloading and loading, and they can unload and load containerized and bulk cargos.

Farhad Montaser Kouhsari pointed out that the second batch of equipment including two 100-ton coastal mobile cranes worth $ 7.5 million, and two other devices will enter the port in the first half of the Iranian new year, and said: with the arrival of the equipment, high quality services can be provided in Chabahar port to shipping lines and good owners.
