Iran's Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO) and the National Investments Agency of Kyrgyzstan approved an MoU for the development of the southern ports of Iran.
Based on the data released by Iranian Transport and Urban Development Ministry, the container operation has increased five percent in the ports of country during the first half of the current Iranian calendar year (March 20-September 21), as compared to the same period of time in the past year.
As announced by a provincial official, the loading and unloading of goods in Imam Khomeini port, in the southwestern Khuzestan province, increased by 10.5 percent during the first half of the current Iranian calendar year (March 20-September 21), as compared to the first half of the past year.
During his visit to Imam Khomeini Port's special economic zone, Ali Akbar Safaei referred to the actions and achievements in the investment, marine and technical fields in the ports and maritime department of Khuzestan province and said: 840 ships have docked in the area since the beginning of this year, remarkable in terms of safety and accident-free status.
Based on the latest data released by the Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO), some 135,555,142 tons of goods were loaded and unloaded at the country’s ports in the first seven months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 20- October 21).
