PMO News Portal - Regarding the virtual meeting held and
attended with members and the board of directors of the Venice Maritime Cluster
Association with the aim of developing joint port and maritime cooperation with
the focus on cooperation in Chabahar port, Khosrow Saraee stated: Taking into
account the memorandum of understanding signed in Tehran on 29th Sep. 2019, both
parties reiterated their commitment for implementing paragraphs of the signed
MOU and encourage and develop cooperative activities among government agencies,
research institutes, private companies and other relative bodies in each
countries to enhance cooperation between their maritime transport and
industries.
Noting that the parties agreed to carry out the needed
studies to establish a regular shipping line between the ports of Chabahar and
Venice in the near future, Saraee said: the plan is to make the best use of
capabilities and enhance the capacity of the shipping fleet of both Parties at
regional and international level.
“Both parties agreed to establish a joint committee
comprising the managers and experts of both parties to hold meetings
periodically and alternatively in both countries in order to introduce port and
maritime investment potentials and opportunities of both parties.”, PMO’s General
Directorate of Transit, Logistics and Agreements concluded.
