conducted by the PMO, the country needs to double the current capacity for its
commercial ports by 2025, Mohammad Rastad stated that It is necessary to
increase the capacity of the country's ports from 300 to 600 million tons.
“commercial ports serve as important infrastructure development,
job creation centers for added value and income. The Ports and Maritime
Organization should be able to take a fundamental and strategic step to achieve
the set goals by creating and developing commercial ports on the Makran coast.”

Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development added: According
to prior experiences in the development of Chabahar port, one of the key areas
that can lead to the country’s economic prosperity is to create and increase the
capacity of commercial ports along Makran coasts.
Rastad concluded: There are numerous small ports along the
coast of Makran in Hormozgan and Sistan and Baluchestan province, which have
commercial applications. These ports should ensure the creation of employment opportunities
and economic prosperity along this important coastline.
