PMO News Portal - Regarding the latest status of Astara port, Alireza Cheshm Jahan stated that Astara port complex is a special economic zone which is located in the north westernmost point of the country on the coast of the Caspian Sea. utilizing its capacity, the private sector can invest in the construction of warehouses, logistics and value-added centers, while enjoy the advantage of export, re-export and transit of goods without facing complex customs formalities.

This port has an area of more than 55 hectares and its development plan has been started the operator company since 2010; The development plan of this port is in the form of 3 phases, enabling the port to provide services to all kinds of ships, goods and containers.

Cheshm Jahan added: During the past 10 months, 185,000 tons of goods have been unloaded and loaded in Astara port complex, and it is expected that the total traffic of this port will reach more than 220,000 tons this year.
