PMO News Portal - In an interview with the information base
of the Ports and Maritime Organization regarding the review of port and
maritime service tariffs of the country's commercial ports in new year and the
necessary measures taken by the PMO to formulate tariffs, Majid Marandi stated
that as the cost of goods decreases, competitiveness grows, and so does
revenue.
He continued: Tariffs for port and maritime services of the
country's commercial ports are one of the effective sectors in the distribution
cycle of goods, and the reform and revision of these tariffs will increase the
competitiveness of economic actors in the region and even in the world.
stating that the reform of port and maritime service tariffs
of the country's commercial ports will increase the volume of traffic and
transit of goods through ports and also reduce the amount of smuggling, the
member of Iran's Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture added: As
much as the economic benefits of passing goods through ports increase, we can
see the facilitation of the process of export and import through ports for
economic actors.
Noting that improving conditions will increase the volume of
goods entering and leaving ports, Marandi rmphesized: "Setting financial
exemptions and reducing the cost of goods are among the effective factors in
attracting economic actors and increasing the amount of imports and exports
from ports."
