The Director General of Maritime Affairs of the Ports and Maritime Organization announced the inspection of more than 3,307 Iranian and foreign vessels in order to maintain and improve the safety of the country's ports

PMO News Portal - Noting that the control and inspection of flagged and foreign ships sailing to ports and waters under sovereignty of the country is one of the main tasks of countries which have flags an pots and committed to international conventions, Hossein Abbasnejad stated that by joining most International conventions and enjoying the longest maritime border in the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman, Iran is one of the most credited countries in the region.

He continued: The task of monitoring the checking for compliance of ships in more than 12 main centers and 10 sub-ports is the responsibility of more than 100 trained control and inspection officers of the Ports and Maritime Organization.

According to Abbasnejad; During the first 7 months of this year, despite the outbreak of Corona virus and special conditions in the country, ship control and inspection officers, managed to inspect more than 3,307 Iranian and foreign vessels arriving at ports while observing health protocols. They have played an important role in maintaining and promoting the safety of ports.
