PMO News Portal - During his one-day trip to Khuzestan
province, Mohammad Rastad visited the project of overhaul, improvement and
widening of Imam Port Highway and was briefed on the last stages of its
development.
The overhaul and widening of Imam Khomeini Highway is
related to improving the port access and the construction projects of the ring that
lead to the connection of Imam Highway to the Persian Gulf Highway, fulfilling
the social responsibilities of the Ports and Maritime Organization; said Mohammad
Rastad.
The total credits of these port projects amount to 1400
billion Rls., which mostly have more than 50% physical progress, and according
to the schedule, some of these projects are expected to be completed and put
into operation by the end of the year. By exploiting these projects, better
conditions for traffic to Imam Port will be obtained and also due to the use of
the ring road, the traffic load will be reduced.
Dredging operations in the strategic Khormousi waterway project
has a credit of about 4,200 billion Rls, which promotes safety and facilitates
the traffic of ships with high tonnage in the Khormousi waterway and consequently
facilitates import of basic commodities.
Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development also visited
the project of oilseeds, livestock and poultry feed processing plant with 30%
progress and grain storage warehouses with private sector investment in 5,000
square meters worth 60 billion Rls., which has boosted productivity.
