port: The capacity of the country's commercial ports is 246 million tons per
year, and statistics shows that 150 million tons of cargo were loaded and
unloaded in these ports last year. According to the goals envisaged in the
sixth development plan, by the end of the set period, the loading and unloading
capacity of the country's commercial ports will increase to 285 million tons
per year.
Rastad continued: The most important development project of
the Ports and maritime Organization includes increasing the capacity of
unloading and loading of containers in Shahid Rajaei port by eight million TEU,
which is being planned in the form of three phase container terminals of Shahid
Rajaei port.
In this project, which includes 1,400 meters of berth and
200 hectares of hinterland area, we expect to operationalize 900 meters of berth
with a berth capacity of ships up to 18,400 TEU in Shahid Rajaei port by the
end of this year.
