5% growth in loading and transporting of basic commodities in Imam Khomeini Port
More than 15 million tons of oil and non-oil goods were unloaded and loaded in the port of Imam Khomeini in the first five months of this year

PMO News Portal - Adel Deris; The Director General of Ports and Maritime Affairs of Khuzestan stated that during the last 5 months this period, about 6 million tons of basic commodities, including corn, oilseeds, meal, sugar and cooking oil, have been unloaded in this port; Also, in order to accelerate the process of clearance of basic commodities needed by the country since the beginning of this year, despite the conditions and restrictions caused by the outbreak of Corona virus, more than 6 million 475 thousand tons of basic commodities have been transited by road and rail to all parts of the country which shows a growth of 5% compared to the same period last year.

He pointed out: in order to reduce road traffic and proper use of rail capacity in Imam Khomeini port, more than 661 thousand tons of basic commodities has been transported by 12,000 wagons to different railway stations in the country from Imam Khomeini port which indicates a 61% increase in the volume of shipments compared to the same period last year.
