Iran elected as Vice-Chair of ROPME Sea Area HC
The Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development and the managing directir of the Ports and Maritime Organization announced the election of the Islamic Republic of Iran as the Vice Chairman of the ROPME Sea Area HC (RSAHC) by winning an absolute majority of votes.

 

PMO News Portal - Referring to the 10th session of the ROPME Sea Area HC which is being was held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia from November 26 to 29, 2024, Ali Akbar Safaee stated: The Islamic Republic of Iran was elected by an absolute majority of votes as the Vice Chairman of the ROPME Sea Area HC (RSAHC) by winning an absolute majority of votes.

 

He added: This commission, as one of the 15 commissions of the International Hydrographic Organization (IHO), is responsible for regional management and coordination in the Persian Gulf, the Sea of Oman and part of the Indian Ocean in the field of completing hydrographic data acquisition, producing and publishing nautical charts, as well as capacity-building activities in accordance with the goals, strategies and programs of the International Hydrographic Organization.

 

The CEO of the Ports and Maritime Organization stated that Iran, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Qatar, Pakistan, Iraq, and Oman are members of this commission.
