Maritime Organization emphasized that IMO's core policy in the field of
maritime safety is to operate within the framework of international regulations
and laws, and that IMO's view toward all governments is the same, and that it
only acts on what the United Nations says regarding sanctions, not unilateral
sanctions by governments.
Dominguez stated that we are considering the concerns of
countries regarding the safety and security of shipping and seafarers through a
technical and non-political mechanism, and noted: In our meetings with
officials of IMO member countries in the region, we are seeking to ensure the
safe operation of ships and restore peace to the region. The Secretary-General
of the International Maritime Organization also stated that the provision of
health and welfare and medical services to seafarers and ship crews in
difficult conditions must be guaranteed.
In this meeting, Ali Akbar Safaei, Managing Director of the Ports
and Maritime Organization, also praised IMO's positive approach in resolving
the problems and issues of the organization's member countries and emphasized:
Despite the numerous problems resulting from unilateral sanctions against
Iranian maritime transport, the application and implementation of IMO
conventions and regulations in ports and waters under the sovereignty of the
Islamic Republic of Iran is followed with great care and sensitivity.
The Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development noted:
“It is expected that the International Maritime Organization will take
appropriate action with a fair and impartial approach in neutralizing

at sea.
