In a letter, the General Secretary the Maritime Union of India (MUI) thanked the Islamic Republic of Iran for the search and rescue operation for capsized ship.

the letter from Amar Singh Thakur, the General Secretary the Maritime Union of India is as follows:

We are indeed proud and privileged to know that Iranian Port Rescue Team have conducted rescue

operations to evacuate and bring 27 Seafarers to safety when the vessel Al Salmy 6 capsized.

The Search and Rescue Operations, conducted in heavy seas have proved to be a life saver.

We acknowledge that amongst them 16 Seafarers are Indian, and all those rescued are being taken

care of in Asalouyeh Port. We pray for the one missing Seafarer.

We appreciate the seriousness with which Iranian Merchant Mariners Syndicate (IMMS), alongwith

the Iranian Administration is playing a very important role of ensuring welfare of Seafarers as

always.

We look forward to a stronger IMMS in the coming years under your able leadership.

MUI continues to offer its solidarity always, and look forward to further strengthening our bond for

welfare of Seafarers.

Thank you all once again and Wish You the Best Always.
