PMO News Portal –Ali Akbar Safaee’s Nowruz message highlights as the Managing Director of PMO is as follows:

despite all kinds of economic challenges and obstacles, including US sanctions and restrictions due to the corona virus outbreak, ports and maritime sector succeeded in its plans thanks to the efforts of all experts. the experts of the Ports and maritime Organization and the Maritime Society of the country made great achievements, which is evidenced by the timely shipment and uninterrupted unloading and loading of more than 200 million tons of goods, especially basic commodities in the country's ports.

In the new year, the Ports and Maritime Organization intends to take long and firm steps in order to realize the policies and development programs of the government and with support and cooperation of all members of the country's maritime transport family in accordance with the needs of the national economy and the needs of promoting regional and international competitiveness of the country

In the coming year, improving maritime safety and security, making the most of the existing capacities of the country’s large fleet, modernizing and increasing the capacity of the fleet of smaller ships, supporting the elite, attracting and training specialized manpower and empowering seafarers, increasing productivity, completing semi-finished projects, upgrading technical equipment and maritime and port services, localizing the construction of equipment and parts required by the maritime transport sector, supporting Iranian knowledge-based companies, development of maritime passenger fleet, continued support and cooperation with non-governmental sectors and associations, facilitating private sector investment and eliminating unnecessary and costly processes will be seriously pursued by the Ports and Maritime Organization.
