Akbar Safaei, the new managing director of the Ports and Maritime Organization,
stated that: The role of the Ports and Maritime Organization is to make policy,
guide and support the ports and maritime beneficiaries, battling against
sanctions.
Referring to other approaches emphasized by the Ports and
Maritime Organization to prepare a comprehensive maritime program in line with the
macro goals of the organization, Safaei added: New capacity building in the
maritime sector for prosperity and job creation, development of the southern
and northern ports, recruitment and training of maritime personnel, proper
attention to the youth in the maritime field, design and implementation of
anti-corruption structures, offering Virtual services, proper attention to the safety
and protection of the marine environment and maritime security are other
approaches of the Ports and Maritime Organization in the future.
Safari also considered the establishment and development of
maritime activities on Makran coasts, serious attention to facilitating trade
with neighboring countries in the north and south, improving productivity
indicators as well as developing a comprehensive maritime program with the
participation of elites and maritime transport activists as other new approaches
of the Ports and Maritime Organization.
The managing director of the Ports and Maritime Organization
highlighted the need for cooperation with the private sector and said: We
intend to form a team of maritime elites to operationalize ports and maritime
programs in the best possible way in future.
