Updated Nautical Charts ensure maritime and traffic safety in Iranian waters
The Director General of Maritime Safety and Protection of the Ports and Maritime Organization announced the publicaton of 100 electronic nautical charts in the Persian Gulf, the Sea of Oman and the Caspian Sea.

PMO News Portal - Regarding the publication of the electronic nautical charts, Nader Pasandeh stated that in mid-October this year, the 100th electronic nautical chart was prepared by local experts in the National Hydrographic Committee in the Persian Gulf, Oman Sea and Caspian Sea. the charts are available to seafarers and other marine authorities through the Norwegian Hydrographic Authority.

Pasandeh added: One of the goals of the National Hydrographic Committee is to publish the electronic nautical chart for the waters under the jurisdiction of the northern and southern coasts of the country and the access routes to the country's ports.

The Director General of Maritime Safety and Protection of the Ports and Maritime Organization noted: So far, 31 coastal charts, 50 access charts, 17 port charts and 2 berthing charts have been developed in the Secretariat of the National Hydrographic Committee according to IHO standards. The certification process has been published internationally through the company distributing electronic nautical charts.

Now seafarers will be able to purchase the ENC cells and upload them to the ship’s information system of the nautical electronic charts. by using the updated maps, shops could have a safe voyage in waters under Iranian jurisdiction.
