meeting of the International Hydrographic Organization Council, Nader Pasandeh said:
Retaining Iran as a key member of the IHO Council and being appreciated for
producing one hundred international electronic marine charts were among the
important issues discussed at the meeting.
Pasandeh continued: The fifth meeting of the Council of the
International Hydrographic Organization (IHO) was held virtually from 17 to 19
October 2021 for three days with the physical presence of the Board of
Directors at its headquarters in the Kingdom of Monaco.
the relevant policies of the International Hydrographic Organization
(IHO), including the work plan and three-year budget of the organization until
2023 were reviewed and approved at the meeting. with the report submitted by
the representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Council of the
International Hydrographic Organization on the production of 100 International marine
electronic Charts through the National Hydrographic Committee chaired by the
Ports and Maritime Organization, the actions and measures of the Islamic
Republic of Iran were praised by the President, members of the Council and the
Secretary General of the International Hydrographic Organization.
The International Hydrographic Organization is an
intergovernmental organization that works to ensure all the world's seas,
oceans and navigable waters are surveyed and charted. Established in 1921, it
coordinates the activities of national hydrographic offices and promotes
uniformity in nautical charts and documents. It issues survey best practices,
provides guidelines to maximize the use of hydrographic survey data and
develops hydrographic capabilities in Member States.
