PMO News Portal - Emphasizing that one of the most important priorities in the current situation is to provide the basic commodities needed by the country such as wheat, corn, barley, soybeans, oilseeds, rice, sugar and edible oils, Ravanbakhsh Behzadian said: based to the daily needs for the consumption of basic commodities, it is vital for such goods to be cleared immediately after entering the country's ports.

The Director General of Port Affairs of the Ports and Maritime Organization stated that despite the difficulties caused by sanctions, we were able to import more than 10 million tons of basic commodities through the country's ports in the first five months of this year, which is 15% more than the same period last year.

The storage capacity for basic commodities in the country's ports, including warehouses and grain storage silos, is about 6 million tons, and currently the ports are unloading and clearing basic commodities with their full capacity.
