Dariush Amani stated: According to the existing port capacity, between 2,400 and
2,500 tons of goods can be transited daily.
The head of the Khuzestan Roads and Transportation
Organization stated that 502 million tons of goods were transited in the
country last year, of which 50 million tons were basic commodities.
Referring to the necessary arrangements to tackle the
problems of truck drivers, Amani, said: measures such as establishing a
headquarters for transiting goods in the Iran Road Maintenance &
Transportation Organization, launching a freight reporting application and
issuing bill of lading by transport companies from each province and
coordination with other organizations are included.
Since the beginning of this year, 6 million and 200 thousand
tons of basic goods have been transited from the country's ports to destinations
throughout the country. 60% of these goods have been transited through the port
of Imam Khomeini.
