In the 84th meeting of the councils of the World Association for Waterborne Transport Infrastructure (PIANC), Mohammad Reza Allahyar; The Deputy of Engineering and Infrastructure Development of PMO was elected as the Chairman of the International Cooperation Commission of this association

PMO News Portal - the 84th meeting of the councils of the World Association for Waterborne Transport Infrastructure (PIANC)was held and attended by the representatives of all member states virtually due to the outbreak of the Corona virus.

The main activities of CoCom include executing relevant parts of PIANC's Strategic Plan; expanding the membership of PIANC by involving countries including those without QM status or National Sections in the Association; promoting PIANC's presence in Countries in Transition; create effective tools and methods to disseminate and communicate information among countries without full National Sections; guide and assist in organising the quadrennial PIANC-COPEDEC Conference; organising regional seminars and workshops; organising regional programmes or other low-cost activities; developing new tools for knowledge transfer; developing networks with authorities and institutes in the countries or regions concerned; closely co-operating, whenever possible, with CoCom's counterparts in Sister Organisations and seeking outside funds in support of its activities.

The World Association for Waterborne Transport Infrastructure (PIANC) is an international professional organisation founded in 1885. PIANC’s mission today is to provide expert guidance and technical advice on technical, economic and environmental issues pertaining to waterborne transport infrastructure, including the fields of navigable bodies of water (waterways), such as canals and rivers, as well as ports and marinas.
