PMO News Portal - Regarding the first virtual meeting of the
Joint Committee on Port and Maritime Cooperation between the Islamic Republic
of Iran and Qatar, Khosrow Saraee emphasized the need to strengthen port and
maritime cooperation between the two countries, and said: Ports and Maritime
Organization of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Mwani Qatar, as the governing
institutions in the field of ports and maritime affairs, must make every effort
to provide appropriate opportunities for private sector investors in Iran and
Qatar.
Saree added: Considering the efforts of the two sides to
strengthen and develop cooperation and increase the transportation of goods, logistics
in the supply chain should be strengthened in terms of infrastructure and superstructure,
also suitable conditions and facilities should be created in the ports of the
two countries.
In this mmeting, Abdul Aziz Aliafi'i, Executive deputy of Mwani
Qatar, also expressed that The two countries have a long history of port and
maritime cooperation, and the Qatari government and Mwani Company make every
effort to encourage Qatari investors and traders to invest in Iranian ports and
facilitate the activities of Iranian investors in Qatari ports.

discussed the issue of long waiting times for Iranian vessels in Qatari ports;
Especially at the port of Al-Ruwais, and the Qatari side pledged to investigate
the issue regarding the Iranian vessels
The establishment of a passenger shipping line between the
ports of Iran and Qatar was also discussed at the meeting.
