Director General of Sistan and Baluchestan Ports and Maritime: Since the beginning of this year (March 2020), the import of basic commodities through Chabahar port has increased by 71% and the transit of goods has increased by 95%

PMO News Portal - Regarding the port operations in Chabahar port, Behrouz Aghaee stated that Chabahar port; As one of the important ports in the southeast of the country, due to its strategic location and access to international open waters, has a special status in Iran's trade exchange with other countries in the region.

He continued: In three fields of maritime, port and telecommunication, Chabahar port has modern and up-to-date equipment. Due to the devices located in this port, the number of unloading and loading of goods has increased by 25% since the beginning of this year (March 2020) compared to the same period last year. 9% of the country's basic commodities have been imported through the port of Chabahar since the beginning of this year. Imports of basic goods (wheat, barley, corn, rice, sugar, agricultural products, vegetable oil and food) from Chabahar port have increased by 71% compared to last year.

concerning the export statistic in this port, Aghaee expressed that export of agricultural, livestock and meat products and export of construction goods through this large oceanic port has increased by 100 and 748 percent respectively.
