Iran's $1 billion investment in the construction and equipping of Shahid Beheshti Port in Chabahar
PMO’s Deputy of Ports and Economic Affairs: Iran has so far invested one billion dollars in creating the required infrastructure and equipping Chabahar port and it is critical that the Indian investor accelerate the supply of equipment in this port.

PMO News Portal – During the meeting for equipment development in Shahid Beheshti port of Chabahar, Farhad Montaser Kouhsari stated that numerous benefits in Chabahar port, has made this port a suitable and profitable port for investment by international companies.

He added: Chabahar port; As a strategic port with a privileged geographical position, can bring significant economic transformation for neighboring nations by connecting India and Central Asian countries. The strategic port of Shahid Beheshti, as the only Iranian ocean port in the north of the Oman Sea, is the closest and easiest way for landlocked Central Asian countries to access open waters.

Referring to the capacity of 8.5 million tons of Chabahar port at the first phase of Shahid Beheshti port development, Kouhsari emphasized: to make optimal use of the available capacity in Chabahar port, appropriate infrastructure and superstructures have been created in the port. furthermore, with public and private sector investment, advanced equipment has been provided for unloading and loading a variety of goods.

Regarding the new equipment arrived at the port as a part of India's $ 85 million investment commitments in the port of Chabahar, PMO’s Deputy of Ports and Economic Affairs concluded: Supply of 140 ton offshore mobile cranes by the Indian company IPGL will be utilized in two fields of container and transit.
