PMO News Portal - During signing ceremony of 2 contracts for
the supply and delivery of 10 pilot boats and the Memorandum of Understanding
between the Ports and Maritime Organization and Iran University of Science and
Technology, Mohammad Eslami stated that today we have taken another step
towards self-reliance. If we want to expand the macro goal in the field of
maritime economy, we must pursue the development of human resources and the
development of the maritime business in this area, which requires capacity
building.
Referring to the goal of establishing a specialized port and
maritime faculty, Eslami added: The establishment of this faculty at the
University of Science and Technology is an appropriate approach for training
the required manpower needed for all jobs in the field of port and maritime.
taking the "Iranian fleet and Iranian seafarers" motto into account,
it is necessary to train manpower in the first step, which will be achieved
with the establishment of the Port and Maritime College.
“Confidence in domestic capacities and the accelerating maritime
activities is on the agenda of the government, which will expand the
transportation capabilities of the maritime sector, and for this reason, we need
to increase our role and share in the maritime sector throughout the country”,
the Minister of Roads and Urban Development highlighted.
