of the Ports and Maritime Organization, Mohammad Rastad stated: since last
year, the country's Ports and Maritime Organization has considered significant
supportive mechanisms to minimize the effects of Corona virus outbreak on all bodies
active in port and maritime sector, including shipping lines, The port of
operators and private sector investors in the form of tariffs discounts and incentives.
Rastad added: PMO; In total, has put a variety of measures
on the agenda to include all people active in the port and maritime sector; To
bear the least negative effects of crises situations such as sanctions and the
corona.
Regarding the important measures by the ports and maritime organization,
deputy minister of road and urban development highlighted: The ratification of
several important documents is currently on the agenda of the Ports and Maritime
Organization; The comprehensive plan of small ports, which is defined for a
15-year run in three phases of 5 years and will be finalized according to the
plan by the end of the year. Another case is the comprehensive plan of the main
commercial ports of the country. implementation of this plan will help the
allocation of resources to fully comply with the projects identified in the
master plan, and for the remaining four years by year, projects in the field of
infrastructure, equipment and superstructures are designated. The construction
of a new port on the coast of Makran, with a capacity of 150 to 200 million
tons, is another plan. PMO will consider the construction of this port on the
Makran coast after the comprehensive plan.
