The Deputy of Transport of the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development of Iran
stated that Chabahar port is a safe and convenient port for the transit of
goods, and neighboring countries and the region can benefit from investing in
this port and its hinterland.
Referring to the restrictions imposed by Turkmenistan on the
entry or transit of goods through this country, he informed of Iran's effective
measures in the field of transportation of goods and trucks by Ro-Ro vessels
from Iran's northern ports in the Caspian Sea, stating that This project can help
us in the situation.
The Deputy Minister of Transport of Uzbekistan also praised
the facilities and equipment of Chabahar Port and said: "Considering the
operational capabilities, equipment and geostrategic position of Chabahar Port,
a joint working group is proposed with the representatives of the Ports and
maritime Organization of Iran and the Transport Development Committee of
Uzbakistan to prepare a roadmap for a detailed review of operational plans for
Uzbekistan's presence in the port of Shahid Beheshti in Chabahar.”
Indicating that none of the ports in Iran subject to sanctions,
Khosrow Saraee; The Director General of Transit, Logistics and International
Agreements of the Ports and Maritime Organization stated that Chabahar port is
located in a strategic area outside the Strait of Hormuz with access to deep
open waters.
“During the last 22 months, 72 container ships, 20 General
Cargo ships, 3 livestock ships and one cargo ship have berthed in Chabahar
port, which indicates the prosperity of Chabahar port and the increase in the
volume of operations.” Saraee added.
