Iran elected as the Vice President of the IMO Technical Cooperation Committee
The Deputy Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the International Maritime Organization in London have been elected for the second year in a row as Vice-President of the Technical Cooperation Committee of the International Maritime Organization.

PMO News Portal – In a meeting at the headquarters of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) in London, Mandana Mansourian was elected for this position with majority of votes from IMO member states.

Mansoorian is the first female vice chair of the IMO Technical Cooperation Committee.

TC is one of the five main committees of the International Maritime Organization, which is responsible for providing technical assistance, especially to developing countries, and enhancing their ability to implement international regulations related to the safety, security and protection of the marine environment.

The Technical Cooperation Committee (TC) oversees IMO’s capacity-building programme and the implementation of technical cooperation projects for which the Organization acts as the executing or cooperating agency, ensuring that IMO supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
