PMO News Portal - Regarding wheat imports, Behrouz Aghaei stated that in line with the import of basic commodities to the country through Chabahar port, the ship carrying 68,193 tons of wheat, which was loaded from Russia, docked in Shahid Beheshti port.

Referring to the modern equipment for unloading and loading of grain in chabaharport, he added: "Considering the existing infrastructure, the unloading operation started and is being carried out with a positive trend immediately after the berthing of the ship.”

Aghaei further said: Considering the development of infrastructure and equipment of Chabahar port, since last year, with the allocation of import quotas for basic commodities needed by the two major Iranian companies through this strategic port, the entry of this type of goods through chabahar is growing well.

Since the beginning of this year, despite the Corona pandemic, 11 ships carrying basic commodities have entered the country through the port of Shahid Beheshti in Chabahar, eight of which are dedicated to bulk wheat, which indicates a significant growth in imports of basic commodities from this large ocean port; Aghaei concluded.
