PMO’s Managing Director: Iran's commercial ports carry out maritime transport operations with the right infrastructure, equipment and superstructures.

In the ceremony of inauguration of the development projects of Anzali port attended by the Minister of Roads and Urban Development, Mohammad Rastad noted that Iran's commercial ports are geographically situated in proper locations and can have a very good share of regional transit.

Pointing to the 30 million tons as the annual capacity of commercial ports on the north coast; he said: with the implementation of development projects in Anzali port, new capabilities have been added to the infrastructure of this port.

The managing director of the Ports and Maritime Organization added: by creating new capacities and upgrading the capabilities of ports; We expect the maritime transport advantages on the country will help to increase Iran's share of regional transit.

Referring to the construction of the third phase of Shahid Rajaei Port Container Terminal, Rastad concluded: With the implementation and completion of this project, the capacity of the most important container terminal in the country will increase to 8 million tons TEU and by the end of this year, a very important section of development project, which is a berth of 900 meters with capacity of accepting liner ships up to 18 thousand and 400 TEU will be put into operation.
