foreign trade, ports on the frontline; Were subject to the most severe
sanctions.
In this regard; despite facing challenges caused by
sanctions that led to problems such as lack of funding to build and develop
advanced and up-to-date infrastructure, lack of adequate support for maritime
investment projects; The Ports and Maritime Organization took the approach of
turning threat into opportunity and paid serious attention to creating and
developing the capacities needed for safe unloading, loading and storage of
goods in ports.
With taking full advantage of its facilities and resources; Ports
and Maritime Organization succeeded in completing the unfinished projects of
the previous years in ports, while implementing a significant number of
development projects and improving work processes.
The development projects include the supply and operation of
equipment of phase 2 of Shahid Rajaei port development plan, the beginning of
the operation of phase 3 of this port with the aim of increasing the nominal
loading and unloading capacity from 6 to 8 million TEU and construction of
three berths with a length of 1400 meters.
Also in Chabahar port, the project of supplying equipment of
the first phase of Shahid Beheshti port development plan, including final
delivery and operation of 9 sets of mobile cranes and, delivery and operation
of 8 grain suction machines was carried out.
