The representative of the Ports and Maritime Organization attended the General Assembly and the 83rd meeting of the Councils of the World PIANC Association, which was held virtually, and expressed Iran's views on water transportation infrastructure.

PMO News Portal - attended the General Assembly and the 83rd meeting of the Councils of the World PIANC Association was held with the attendance of the first delegate and members of the PIANC Secretariat of Iran.

In this meeting; Strategic policies such as the activities carried out in the meetings and conferences of the Association throughout this year and in the coming years, member countries and updating the membership system, the economic effects of the outbreak of coronavirus on the budget reviewed and discussed.

Also Mohammad Reza Allahyar; The Technical and Engineering Deputy of the Ports and Maritime Organization expressed Iran's views on the issues and emphasized the development of joint cooperation.

PIANC is the global organisation providing guidance and technical advice for a sustainable waterborne transport infrastructure to ports, marinas and waterways. Established in 1885, PIANC is one the oldest technical Associations that has changed noticeably over the years, adapting to the respective contemporary requirements of issues pertaining to waterborne transport infrastructure. Some of the 21st century’s challenges involve sustainable development, climate change, the need for working with nature and digitalization.
