PMO News Portal – pointing out to the unlawful and shameful
interventions by the United States, intended to prevent the progress of Iran's
trade growth at the annual conference of the directors of the Ports and
Maritime Organization, Mohammad Eslami stated: fortunately we are at the
desired point of progress and victory, and taking the spread of the Corona
virus into account, we have experienced a natural trend in country’s trade
compared to last year.
Production, industrial and commercial activities, some of
which are related to ports, must be adapted to today's conditions and a new
mechanism must be designed to facilitate and streamline such activities, so
that we can limit the impact of imposed pressure from the enemy. Furthermore,
needed support for investors should be considered in order to attract maximum investment
in ports, and facilitating the attraction of private sector should become a
priority on the agenda of the ports and maritime organization; The Minister of
Roads and Urban Development emphasized.
Eslami also emphasized on the significance if transit
corridors in multi modal transportation and added: we are able to add up to 50
million ton to the country’s transit capacity and consequently increase the
share of loading and unloading operations in the ports. The development of
Iran's northern ports should also be on the agenda since there are undiscovered
markets in this region which need special attention.
