PMO News Portal - The southeastern coastal protection dikes
project of Shahid Beheshti Port was one of the projects visited by the managing director of the Ports
and Maritime Organization. This project, which has a credit of 1170 billion Rls,
follows important goals such as protection of coastal innovations, creating a
suitable bed for rail passage, expanding the port hinterland by 13 hectares,
reducing the corrosion of equipment and metal structures.
It is worth mentioning that the construction of this protective
barrier, which is 2200 meters long, has directly and indirectly created
employment opportunities for 450 people.
The firefighting and drip irrigation projects of Shahid
Beheshti, Shahid Kalantari and Chabahar port residential complex were among the
projects visited by the delegation. Completion of this project will lead to the
construction of a firefighting system in Shahid Kalantari port, increase the
safety factor of berths, yards and residential complex and optimize the water
consumption pattern.
The multi-purpose warehouse built by the private sector in
Shahid Beheshti Port was another project visited by the managing director of
the Ports and Maritime Organization. This warehouse has been built with credit
of one million and 325 thousand dollars and is ready for operation. Utilization
of multi-purpose warehouse will increase the storage capacity of goods.
The members of the managing board Board of organization
visited the construction site of the 100 thousand ton grain silo of this port. The
construction of this silo in Shahid Beheshti port is part of the development
plan of this port and will last 30 months; accordingly, the initial credit of
this project is about $ 20 million.
Increasing the capacity of storing bulk and basic commodities,
increasing the capacity of accepting and berthing ships in order to boost the
share of Chabahar port in supplying basic commodities of the country,
increasing the transit capacity of grain to CIS countries, are among the
benefits of the construction of this silo.
