330% growth in imports of basic commodities through Chabahar port
The Director General of Ports and Maritime Affairs of Chabahar Port announced a 330% increase in the import of basic commodities as well as a 157-fold increase in the transit of goods through Chabahar Port.

PMO News Portal - Behrouz Aghaee, Director General of Sistan and Baluchestan Ports and Maritime stated: Due to the fact that the large oceanic port of Chabahar enjoys modern equipment for unloading and loading of goods, as well as significant discounts considered on tariffs for goods and ships since the beginning of this year, We have experienced a 97% increase in the unloading and loading of non-oil goods in this strategic port compared to the same period last year.

Stating that the import of basic commodities through Chabahar port has grown by 330 percent, Aghaee added: the largest share of imports of this type of goods with 479 thousand tons is dedicated to wheat, also this year barley and sugar are other basic commodities imported through this port And has been transited to various destinations in the country.

Referring to the significant growth of exports of goods through Chabahar port, Aghaei concluded: "since the beginning of this year, exports of goods through this important oceanic port has increased 37 times compared to the same period last year,."
