Long-term Lease Contract for the Operation of the Container Terminal II
of Shahid Rajaee Port
with a view to promote quality and efficiency of its services, increase volume throughput of the cargo and container and gain an increased and sustainable share of domestic, regional and international market, Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO) is planning to hold the tender for the operation of Container terminal II of Shahid Rajaee port located in Hormozgan Province in the form of a lease contract with the following conditions:
1. Duration of the contract shall be 10 years with fixed and variable rental
2. The properties and equipment of container terminal II shall remain under the ownership of the Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO). The operator shall procure the complementary equipment.
The operator shall be selected from qualified domestic and international companies. The selected company shall have sufficient experience in management and operation of container terminal conforming to the international standards and meeting the operational requirements of Bandar Shahid Rajaee port. Details and conditions as well as qualification criteria (technical and financial) shall be notified in the subsequent announcements in the near future.
In operation and management of Shahid Rajaee Port and its container terminals, PMO always puts emphasis on providing services to its customers including shipping lines, cargo owners, forwarders and logistic firms on a non-exclusive and non-discriminatory basis. Accordingly, the proposals to be received from the bidders whose scope of work might render to monopolistic services and adverse effects on container throughput of the Shahid Rajaee Port will be addressed with the special considerations by the PMO.

The tender shall be held in two phases. In the first phase, the public announcement of which will be published shortly, the interested companies are requested to furnish their technical and financial information. On the basis of the qualification criteria of the PMO, a shortlist of the qualified companies will be provided. In the second phase, qualified companies will be asked to give their proposal (technical and financial) and finally the company giving the best proposal to the PMO will be awarded with the contract.
