PMO News Portal - Farhad Montaser Koohsari on the latest statistics of ports’ performance in unloading and loading operations in recent months, especially during Nowruz, stated that Last year, the performance of unloading and loading in the country's ports has grown significantly, according to statistics. Of the overall 148.6 million tons in loading and unloading operations, nearly 103 million tons were non-oil cargo and 45.6 million tons was oil, which shows an increase of about 6.6 percent over the same period last year.

He continued: This year, the ports also faced additional restrictions due to the outbreak of the coronavirus in the country and the world. given the fact that ports are main entry points of cargo into the country, from the very beginning of the outbreak of the virus, the necessary instructions to combat the spread was coordinated by the provincial health officials and was reported to the relevant authorities.

PMO Deputy of Ports and Economic affairs concluded: Due to the cancellation of Nowruz trips in ports and the focus on port activities, so far no problems have been reported in the process of unloading and loading operations in ports, and all port activities are being carried out according to the plans made.
