Beris Fishing port is located in a village in Sand-e Mir
Suiyan Rural District, Dashtiari District, Chabahar County, Sistan and
Baluchestan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 2,356, in
477 families.
Beris, which has recently turned into a fishing port, is
located on the northern coasts of the Oman Sea. The Beris height is 10 meters
from the sea level and the minimum depth of water is 4 meters. The village of Beris
is a newly built village whose people migrated there from the old Bris 60 years
ago. Due to the strategic location of Beris and being on the coast of the Oman
Sea and having a fishing port and a pier, the people of surrounding villages
have moved to Beris. The city of Beris is expanding day by day, and by conducting
the new developing plan of Beris, it is almost a city and one of the largest
villages in the province. All in all it makes Beris a great opportunity for
local and international investment.
The port of Beris is mainly located on the layers of dense,
semi-collapsible, sandstone of the third period of geology. The extrusions are
visible in the range of rocky cliffs overlooking the southern coast.
One of the most important features of Beris Port is its
unique scenery and unique pier which can play a significant role in attracting
tourists from different cultures and help expanding ecotourism.
