The Port and Maritime Director of Lengeh Port announced the dedication of special yard in western Hormozgan ports for cargo export to the littoral States of the Persian Gulf: "We are doing our best to exploit all available capacities to flourish value-adding non-oil exports."
He highlighted the strategic position of his port for cargo imports and exports: "Apart from the development plan and expanding hinterlands in the past years, the dedication of special yards for empty incoming containers and those waiting for transfer, and facilitation of ship berthing and container entry and exit are some of the other measures taken to promote commercial transactions with other regional ports."
Mr. Ghasem Askarinasab elaborated: "Creating favorable conditions for loading different minerals and construction materials, providing appropriate equipment, promoting quayside depth to 5.5 meters all over the access channel for berthing vessels of 5 to 10 thousand tons, and furnishing port and customs facilities to expedite cargo discharge and clearance have resulted in positive outcomes such as attraction of cargo owners and exporters of minerals and non-oil cargos for higher activity of the port."
He concluded that Lengeh Port and its subordinate ports possessed suitable infrastructures for exporting different commodities, including construction materials, refrigerated containers and minerals, and was prepared to provide export services to interested merchants and investors.
