Operational Indices Flourish in Largest Iranian Container Port

The Director of Shahid Rajaee Port Special Economic Zone (SEZ) announced the 8-percent increase in cargo loading and discharge, and significant flourish of transit, exports and transshipment in the largest Iranian commercial port in the past year.

He pointed to the performance in the past 12 months: "In the year 1396 (Iranian Calendar), a total of 87,370,060 tons of oil and non-oil commodities in the largest Iranian port, which registered a growth of 8 percent compared to the past year."

Mr. Allahmorad Afifipur continued that out of the mentioned volume, 59,985,580 tons were related to non-oil cargos, and the remaining 27,510,580 tons were oil cargos, which had grown by 11 and 3 percents respectively.

He then continued by announcing the exports of non-oil cargos from the largest Iranian commercial port as 39,399,364 with a growth of 8 percent: "In the mentioned period, some 9,000,585 tons of non-oil commodities were also imported though this port, which had no changes compared to the previous year."

The Ports and Maritime Director General for Hormozgan Province stated the volume of total cargos transited through that port as 5,290,692 tons: "This volume was grown by 22 percent compared to the year 1395 (Iranian Calendar). Moreover, some 3,407,833 tons of non-oil cargos were transshipped by feeder vessels to other ports in the first three month of the present Iranian year, registering a growth of 53 percent."

In another part of his speech, he pointed to the 1-percent growth of exports of oil products, equal to 8,120,160 tons, through Shahid Rajaee Port in the past year.
