In Accordance with World Customary RegulationsPMO to Make Iranian Port Contracts Transparent

The Deputy Managing Director for Engineering and Development of Infrastructures of the Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO) spoke with the PMO's News Portal about making contracts and payments transparent: "This is a project-centered organization and needs to perform under customary regulations and trends in the world.

One activity commenced in the year 1396 (Iranian Calendar) and continued this year was higher transparency of contract and payment order processes, which is pursued as "project control and management"."

He pointed to the speed in the "project control and management" movement, which had led to the establishment of a "Contract and Project Management Center" in the PMO: "An integrated project management has also been considered, through which the status reports will be issued in the shortest time possible."

 

Maritime Tourism, A Major PMO Responsibility

Mr. Mohammadreza Allahyar then counted consideration to tourism infrastructures to be another important issue for PMO for the present year: "Maritime tourism is one of our responsibilities in line with our social mission, since it will help resolve many national problems in the social and economic sector, especially through increased employment."

 

Increased Attention to Maintenance Sector

He concluded by mentioning the increased concentration on PMO's assets in the maintenance sector: "A plan for transforming projects will be stipulated this year, through which construction and equipment management will proceed in the form of a unified system and structure, and be satisfactorily maintained and managed, to maintain the equipment, constructions and facilities with the lowest costs."
