Service description
According to Article 5 Part B of the Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS), each State Party to the Convention, either alone or with the assistance of other States, shall establish coastal facilities for the provision of radio or air services. The Ports and Maritime Organization is also responsible for this important matter and also according to paragraph 6 of Article 3 of the Organization's By-Laws, which mandates the administration of offshore and onshore telecommunications networks to contact affiliated ships and ports, has established maritime coastal stations.
