Sultan of Oman orders the implementation of the maritime cooperation agreement with Iran
The Sultan of Oman issued a decree approving the maritime cooperation agreement with Iran, which was signed in 2020.

PMO News Portal - The Sultan of Oman, Haitham bin Tariq, issued a decree approving a cooperation agreement with Iran in the field of maritime transport, which was signed in 2020 between the two countries.

In February 2020, Iran and Oman signed an agreement to expand cooperation in the fields of freight transport, maritime trade and reciprocal use of the two countries' ports, in addition to bilateral trade cooperation in the high seas.

The Sultan of Oman's order to implement the agreement came after talks between the two countries' officials in Muscat to activate maritime co-operation, while the two countries also stressed the need to strengthen co-operation in regional and international transport and transit.

Iran and Oman also agreed to form a joint committee to develop maritime transport between the two sides.

The two sides agreed to follow up on the agreements signed between the two countries. On Monday, an Iranian delegation consisting of representatives of 30 private sector companies and representatives of the Ports and Maritime Organization traveled to Oman to review the strengthening of cooperation between the two countries.
